It's not usual for websites to have acknowledgements pages. But I would never have got this far without the help, good humour and friendship of many people. Janet Mackenzie is truly an editor's editor. She edited the courses and commented on the journal articles with knowledge, experience and wisdom. Two gifted artists worked on the illustrations on the site. Arnum Endean's cartoons and Marian Tubbs's floral icons add a suave and original touch. Ann Parkinson designed the template for The Fine Print and Tina Kao designed the template for the courses. The resulting improvement in presentation is due to the clarity and professionalism of their work. Chris Ashe built the database for the website, that part known so elegantly as the back end. He also taught me a great deal about the technical aspects of web design and development with humour and generosity. All the members of the editorial board of The Fine Print have given their time, advice and encouragement freely—and for free. I'm very grateful for their expertise. Thank you very much Sheila Allison, Bryony Cosgrove, Ed Highley, Shelley Kenigsberg and Janet Mackenzie. Thanks also to all the contributors and all the reviewers. Without you, there would be no journal. The project has been my obsession for longer than I care to remember. I'm grateful to friends who have listened to me, put up with me and allowed themselves to be dragged to computer screens to read and respond. A special thank you goes to Christine d'Aran and an extra special thank you to the adorable Miriam. Thank you too to everyone who is reading this. I hope that you will become part of this venture, that you will contribute, comment and add your voice to this new online editing community. Pamela Hewitt |
